STATEMENT |
|
Christian Lifestyle Christian virtues that are expected to be followed include humility, honesty, a forgiving spirit, faith, hope and love. The Bible condemns such practices as greed, jealousy, pride, lust, bitterness, uncontrolled anger, prejudice, drunkenness, stealing, profanity, dishonesty, occult practices, illegal activities, and sexual sins. Camp community members are expected to maintain this Christian lifestyle while exercising our freedoms responsibly, within the framework of God’s Word. This implies stewardship of mind, body, time, abilities, and funds, as well as thoughtful Christian choices in matters of entertainment, associations, and the use of Sunday.
Camp Concerns Cowboy’s Rest Camp and Retreat Center also has chosen
to adopt rules that foster the kind of atmosphere the Camp desires. These
rules require members to abstain from gambling, illegal drugs, tobacco,
alcoholic beverages, pornography, and ‘R’-rated movies while on camp grounds.
Modest dress is mandatory for all of our staff. Also, bearing in mind the
importance of the body of Christ to the Christian walk, we require that all of
our staff members attend Sunday worship at a local church. (There are several
Christian churches in the area to choose from.)
