DRIVING DIRECTIONS - via Elko

From Elko

approaching Elko on I-80 East:

· take Exit 301, turn right onto Mountain City Hwy.

· follow Mountain City Hwy. around the outskirts of Elko (it becomes Silver Street). The 4th stoplight is 12th Street.

· turn right onto 12th Street and follow it to Lamoille Hwy.

approaching Elko on 1-80 West:

· take Exit 301, turn left onto Mountain City Hwy.

· follow Mountain City Hwy. around the outskirts of Elko (it becomes Silver Street). The 5th stoplight is 12th Street.

· turn right onto 12th Street and follow it to Lamoille Hwy.

from Elko:

· take 12th Street to Lamoille Hwy. (S.R. 227)

· turn left onto the Lamoille Hwy. (S.R. 227) and follow it over Elko Summit (Careful, the Highway Patrol is very strict on this stretch of road!)

· turn right at the second stoplight (it’s on the far side of the summit) onto S.R. 228

· take S.R. 228 south to Jiggs (27 miles)

· continue south past Jiggs another 3.5 miles. Turn right at the sign reading “Bald Mountain Mine, Eureka” onto a dirt road with a cattle guard. (You might want to take it slow: this road is rather infamous for flat tires!)

· follow this main dirt road for 15 miles, until you reach a large fork at the beginning of a hill; take the left fork up the hill.

· continue along this road for 4.5 miles

· on your left, you will see a white sign reading “XJ Ranch”. Turn left at the sign onto a smaller dirt road.

· after crossing the cattle guard, take the right fork of the road.

· continue on this road 1.8 miles – and you’re there!
