Head Cook

 

Profile: Christian individual with previous large-scale food production experience.  Must live on-site for the duration of the summer season.  Should be older than most temporary summer staff.  Must be able to supervise, organize, and motivate volunteers and assistants.  Good organizational and planning skills imperative.

 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)…

-         weekly meal planning

-         weekly food orders (including determining needed amounts of each food item)

-         weekly record-keeping of food amounts consumed

-         completion or oversight of weekly food and supply inventory

-         meal preparation

-         baking

-         oversight and assignment of kitchen assistants and volunteers

o       conducting daily meeting and prayer time with assistants

-         oversight of dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, food storage, and food disposal

 

Duration:  June 7 through August 9, 2010

 

Compensation: $300 per week plus housing and meals

Staff Mentoring Couple


Profile:
Christian couple devoted to nurturing and assisting high school and college-aged summer staff.  Both adults would live on-site during the duration of this position.

 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)…

-         Staff Training Week:

o       discussion of housing (and possibly other ) policies with staff members

o       staff housing check-in

o       daily feedback session with assigned staff members

o       leading or participation in daily Bible studies

-         nightly inspection of staff housing

-         nightly Curfew and Lights-out check (for both campers and staff)

-         attending daily staff meetings and prayer times

-         leading morning counselor prayer meetings

-         leading weekly Bible study/discipleship time with staff (these times may occur more often and may be gender-specific, at the discretion of the mentors)

-         weekly one-on-one time prayer and discussion time with each staff member

-         chapel attendance and encouragement of staff to attend

-         weekly staff housing inspection

-         planning and preparation of weekend staff meals

-         planning of one staff event per weekend

-         transportation of staff to and from church on Sundays (camp vehicles available)

-         daily prayer for, interaction with, and encouragement of the staff

 

Duration: June 7 through July 9, 2010

 

Compensation: $250 per week  plus housing and meals

Camp Nurse


Profile:
Christian individual holding a current RN degree from accredited institution.  Should be experienced with the examination and treatment of minor injuries and illnesses.  Will be working extensively with children and should possess the compassion and firmness needed to do so.

 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)…

-         examination of campers or staff members with injuries or complaints of illness

-     treatment of minor injuries or illnesses

-     referral of more serious injuries or illnesses for additional examination and/or treatment

-         contacting parents of sick or injured campers

-     record keeping pertaining to all campers or staff members seen for injury or illness

-     collection of camper medications at registration (and communication with parents about the identity, use, and distribution of each medicine)

-         organization and daily distribution of camper medications

-         filing of medical release forms and other records

-         supervision of hikes, recreation, and other activities

-         inventory, ordering, and restocking of infirmary supplies

-     participation in staff Bible studies and prayer meetings

 

Duration: June 7 through August 9, 2010

 

Compensation: $300 per week  plus housing and meals
