Itinerary: (now that the team has departed, we can reveal the details!)

Saturday, July 24:

Starting Point: Soldier Canyon

 Objective: Cold Lakes
Report:  "Great day!  Reached Cold Lakes by mid-afternoon.  Plenty of time to fish and relax."

Sunday, July 25:

 Objective: Verdi Lake
Report (7:45am):  "Doing great so far!  Got close to several mountain goats yesterday.  Also saw deer laying in the snow in the afternoon.  Fishing was great!  Caught about 50 brook trout, most of them 10 inches."

Monday, July 26:

 Objective 1: Lamoille Trailhead
     Objective 2: Favre Lake
Report (7:25am): "Doing fine.  Hot, buggy night at Verdi.  Just about to start the most technical leg of the trip [dropping from Verdi into Lamoille Canyon].  Better get down ahead of this storm."

Tuesday, July 27:

 Objective: Overland Lake
Report (8:00am from Wine's Peak): "Pressed on a little farther than planned yesterday.  Had a nice campsite in the trees by Furlong Creek with a great view!  We've seen several more goats.  The guys are a little sore but doing great.  Long haul today to Overland."

Wednesday, July 28:

 Objective: McCutcheon Creek
Report (8:00am): "Made it to Overland in time to set up our tents and fish a little before we were pounded with hail and heavy rain.  The tent was literally floating!  After the first squall, we had time to dig a trench around the tent, which was very helpful since it rained most of the night.  Today, we're all a little stiff, but it's a shorter hike, and we're going to take our time and explore a little.  The guys are doing awesome!"

Thursday, July 29:

 Objective 1: Harrison Pass

Objective 2: Ruby Lake Boat Landing (via bike)

Objective 3: Ruby Lake South Sump (via canoe)
Report (8:00pm): "Great day!  Quick hike from McCutcheon to the bikes.  Dena met us at Harrison Pass and took our packs so we could enjoy a fast ride down the east side to Ruby Lake.  The guys were gung ho and loving the change!  Had lunch at the boat landing and then set out by canoe.  Not the best time of day to fish, but we still caught quite a few.  (We had to catch our dinner!)  Bob met us at the South Sump, cooked us a delicious dinner of bass and tortellini, and shared with us from the Word.  We decided to camp at the Ruby Lake campground and then head up over the Mitchell saddle in the morning."

Friday, July 30:

Objective: over Sherman Mountain to Cowboy's Rest
Report (12:45pm): "The sun woke us up at 5:30 this morning... so we figured we might as well pack up and head up the hill.  Once again, the guys were determined, and we reached Cowboy's Rest just a few minutes ago... well ahead of schedule!  What to do now?  A shower and nap sounds good!  Then we'll spend some time together with the Lord before we have our celebratory dinner!  Thank you God for an awesome week in Your awesome creation!"
